    My husband and I full-time rv'd for 15 years. I am so very thankful for that time on the road with him. We made wonderful friends who are still in touch 11 years after we settled back down in Arkansas. The time on the road is my most precious time with him! I lost him 5 years ago. Yes, there are definitely ups and downs but I would do every bit of it all over again!

      Thank you for sharing your story. Cherish all those wonderful memories! We lost my dad a couple years ago suddenly and it really got my husband and I thinking “we don’t have a promise for how long we are here” why do we have to sit here working and wasting every day grinding and not enjoying the life we have now. Retirement isn’t promised as we learned with my dad. So we are ready to tackle this new adventure together!! God bless!

    Barry, I think you were talking to me when you were talking about those of us who want to start RVing full-time and currently work remote. Well, that's me. I am not scared to full-time RV, however, my husband is not a remote worker, so that is something that we need to work on. He kind of wants to wait a few years, until he retires. Or, he wants to get into the traveling medical field, as he is a CT Tech. But, he feels like he is a bit old for that. He will be 60 in October and isn't as fast as the young pups out there. So many decisions to make. Or, we could just wait until he turns 62 and do some work-camping....etc....!
    Darlene, I am praying for a speedy recovery for you.
    Darlene and Barry, thanks for sharing your journey. I subscribed to your channel today.
    When we do get into RVing full-time, I would love to start my own RUclips channel about our journeys. Now, that has me a bit nervous.
    God bless you and your family.

    I realized a few months after we hit the road that life in a house or apartment or condo etc is monotonous. Even if marriage is ideal, kids are incredible, great house and neighborhood, amazing church and place to serve, tons of friends, plenty going on, good or great income. It is monotonous. As I mention this to others lately they say that the word monotonous perfectly describes what they are wrestling with. They buy a boat. Or play a lot of organized pickleball and other sports. But they are actually trying to fight monotony. I’ve wondered if some midlife crisis situations are really more about monotony. I’m grateful for the full time life as it is a total monotony buster! Great video. Good luck as you continue to grow your channel.

    Just discovered you, @Like There's No Tomorrow! I'm a Hoosier, born and raised. I definitely went to many "Jesus Music Festivals", too. Now, 62 and in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. My late-husband and I were planning for 8 years to retire and go full-time, but sadly he took his own life on Feb. 20th, 2022. We had bought a place in a gated retirement community in Palmview, TX. due to the pandemic and the need for a place to rest from road fatigue. We had planned to sell the house, but he ended those plans when he ended his time on earth, just 39 days shy of his actual retirement age. We had purged nearly everything in our home and I was paralyzed with fear for the first 6 months - what will I do, what have we bought, should I sell everything for the RV, do I buy a rig and try to do this as a solo female, etc. I haven't sold my home because my oldest son (1 of 3) is still living there, but I'm down here in the sweltering heat of the RGV. (106° today!) I'm glad I found your channel and I hope your healing is rapid. I've also had my brush with fame as a production manager and working with many celebs, as well as working for Linkin Park before Chester took his own life. We have a lot in common. I've been on Mtv, HBO, Cinemax, and Swedish television. I haven't purchased a rig yet, but I know it is what I want to do. I can't bear the midwest winters, but the heat is equally oppressive, here by the border. I'm looking forward to catching up on your journey, from the start. My late-husband and I learned almost everything about RV's through going to RV shows and following all the great RUclips channels like "Today is Someday", "You, Me, and the RV", RV Geeks, Chris and Cherie of "Technomadia", etc.

    I am so grateful to have found your channel because I love you guys. I am like in your age bracket. We have been planning to travel for a couple of years. I have a 29 year old son, and then my little surprise son, just turned 21. He is headed off to college. I have always been a gypsy soul. I was a single mom and could not afford big vacations, so I bought an old high top van in 2012, and my son's, our dog, and I would go on camping trips. DANG....I missed the boat, because if I only knew about RUclips back then. LOL We were like the beginning of van life. LOL When the boys were not as enthusiastic as Me and Rex (our loyal companion), I would take off on weekend warrior road trips in my 1993 Chevy Hi-Top Van. I put 80k miles on that little booger, visiting adjoining states (I am in West KY by the way), visiting Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri, and the farthest was Lawton, OK, which was the old 93's last big road trip after I met Dean. I am so grateful you are feeling better Darlene. I was mortified about your fall. We had just conversed about the insurance crap, and now I need to get my butt in gear after 2 years without insurance, and quit shooting "craps" with this. Looking forward to more great adventures from you guys. Thank you for sharing this with all of us.

    My wife and I have thought about the possibility of going full time in a motorhome, yes we’ve got way to much stuff to simply move into one, maybe four or five 😜 Were retired, late 60’s, love to see new places, never been “camping”. We like our creature comforts but realize we don’t need all of the stuff we own to effectively live our lives…
    Questions…
    (1) Why a trailer rather than a motorhome?
    (2) How often do you pick up and move camp, as that will affect the budget?
    (3) Do you try to stick to areas with nice weather, do you avoid winter weather?
    (4) Does living in close proximity cause problems?

    • @liketheresnotomorrow
      @liketheresnotomorrow  4 месяца назад +1

      1) motor homes were out of our budget and we liked the look and feel of fifth wheels better
      2) we like to move every two weeks
      3) We try to avoid the extreme heat and cold but that’s hard in the summer. We do the southwest most of the winter. FL is too expensive and crowded for us
      4) as long as we plan “alone” time we don’t have any issues with the close quarters. He goes fishing and I’ll go exploring on my own as well.

    I’m a new watcher. So sorry about your accident. I’m a nurse snd RV owner, having fallen backwards from inside to ground, but was uninjured. I would love to know what you found out on your follow up Dr visit and has you’re tingling in upper extremities dissipated?

    • @liketheresnotomorrow
      @liketheresnotomorrow  Месяц назад

      Now, 4 months post, I have just a little tingling when I look down, some headaches but I’m getting there. After 8 weeks in the neck brace and a very careful few months, it seems to be healing. I think with some Chiro and continued therapy, I’ll do ok. I still have degenerative disc in my neck, but I still feel very fortunate it wasn’t much worse:

I just turned 60 (gulp) in May and am getting my ducks in a row to be on the road next year. I want to see at least half of the National Parks in the lower US and a ton of forests too. And definitely off-season. I'm not a peopley person. Hope you have a smooth healing journey. ~Kim

    Great video guys - love your content and always learn something new! I have some questions around what a boon-docking setup looks like for bigger 5th wheels (40ft) - do you have to do solar or can you use a generator? Any info you have on RVing with pets - we have 1 dog and 1 cat. Also some questions around renting your house, challenges to that, how to, furnished or not, selling your stuff, etc.

    • @liketheresnotomorrow
      @liketheresnotomorrow  4 месяца назад

      We are actually working on some of this but for now….
      You can do a gen for a short boondocking stay but if you are around anyone or at a have at host, that may be problematic. We’ll work on the rest for you in a video soon. We rented unfurnished because we did annual and not short term. I’m working on a going full time course that will address lots of this for you❤️

    Hiya fellow Hoosiers!! I live in Indy and my husband and I want to live like this. We have talked about it for over a decade now. I’m about to be 50 and my husband ( who’s from Tampa)lol and I really want this. Any advice how to get started?!

    • @liketheresnotomorrow
      @liketheresnotomorrow  7 дней назад +1

      It’s a journey for sure. There’s a lot of thought that will need to go into what type of rig, how you want to travel, and then there’s learning the Rv life in general. Just start making notes on what you think you want. Go tour the rvs and really sit in them and envision it. Research manufacturer customer service and reputation.
      We do have a course that guide people through the entire process. If you’re interested: liketheresnotomorrow.net/full-time-rv-living-course/
